Parasol Espresso Cup

Founded by Alexandra Heard and Heleena Trahanas, Alex and Trahanas is a lifestyle project and design studio born from a deep love for the staggering beauty of Mediterranean summer. Sunlit terraces, seaside trattorias and tavernas, long lunches in linen with delicious food and wine — all shared with friends and family — form the heart of their world.

Named for the striped parasols that dot Italian piazzas, this espresso cup and saucer bring a small ritual of colour to the morning coffee. Hand-painted by artisans in Puglia in a lively red, blue and yellow palette, it channels the unhurried pleasure of a coffee moment at a traditional pasticceria. Each cup and saucer is painted individually, carrying its own gentle variations in glaze and brushwork.
