Lido Fruit Bowl Stand | Sea Green

Founded by Alexandra Heard and Heleena Trahanas, Alex and Trahanas is a lifestyle project and design studio born from a deep love for the staggering beauty of Mediterranean summer. Sunlit terraces, seaside trattorias and tavernas, long lunches in linen with delicious food and wine — all shared with friends and family — form the heart of their world.

Taking its striped glaze from the awnings of Italy's fruttivendolo markets, the Lido fruit bowl stand lifts a shallow sea-green bowl on a slender pedestal, as much sculpture as centrepiece. Hand-painted by artisans in Puglia, it holds fruit beautifully between gatherings and doubles as a serving piece for pasta at a long, lingering lunch. Every stand is shaped and painted entirely by hand, carrying its own gentle irregularities.
