Robert Pinto- Designer/Artist

Prior to returning to Adelaide in 2010, Robert spent twenty years working as an Interior Designer in Melbourne and Sydney. He specialized in luxury residential and restaurant projects. He has always had a passion for fine art and relatively recently returned to painting.

He has travelled extensively and is inspired by the work of Morandi, Scully, Californian Moderism, Italian Rationalism and the Japanese philosophy of ‘Wabi Sabi’. Robert works usually on canvas and paper with his preferred media, acrylics and pastel.


He is establishing a body of work that focusses on his take of the ‘still life’ and ‘tablescapes’, with occasional experiments in abstract. He plays with the mixing of two and three dimensional representation ofordinary objects (usually ceramics, glass or tableware) with thoughtful colour schemes.
