Jacob Logos - Indigo Portrait Series

Artist Bio:

Jacob Logos is a predominantly self representing painter. Jacob has presented solo and duo shows in Australian and the UK,  translating his distinctive illustrative style onto Street Art walls in Buenos Aires, Berlin, Sydney and Adelaide.

He was honoured as the inaugural Artist in residence at Jacobs Creek, Barossa Valley and has proudly produced and installed a series of granite engravings in the Reconciliation Plaza, Victoria Square / Tarntanyangga in the centre of Adelaide.

Jacob has steadily maintained a traditional painting studio and printmaking practise whilst developing ground breaking new work with bleeding edge volumetric technology. In 2020 Jacob and wife Fiona Todd, Textile Artist and Designer of  ‘Vigilantia’, formed ‘Beacon Studios’, with the intention of delivering exciting exhibitions and project outcomes through art leadership, innovative research and high level cross discipline collaboration.

Indigo Portrait Series:

This small series of portraits are depictions of the women textile workers from Tarum Workshop Bali.

The Artist is married to textile artist and designer Fiona Todd of 'Vigilantia' and much of his recent work references their various residencies and buying trips to natural dye and textile houses around the world.

Working primarily from photos, sketches and memory, this series aims to document the experience of place, pattern, texture and people, on a layered backdrop of characteristic hand painted signage.
