opinel - no. 9 oyster & shellfish knife
Opinel's knives haven't changed much in design since Joseph Opinel began making them in 1890 in Savoie, France. They have, however, come a long way from the farms and fields of the French Alps.
The oyster knife for shellfish lovers with its short and pointed blade, which is only sharp at the point, this pocket oyster knife is effective at opening cupped and flat oysters. The Padouk handle is moisture-resistant. Take it to the seaside with you or give it as a Christmas gift.
Blade length:
6.5 cm
The handles:
The Padouk is a dense African wood with a thin grain. Its colour varies from purple-brown to pinky with purple veins.
The safety ring:
Invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955, the Virobloc safety ring is fitted to all folding knives from the N° 06. Cut out of stainless steel, the Virobloc has two sections, one fixed and one sliding. In addition to locking the blade open (safety in use), it is now possible to lock the blade closed (safety in transport).
Designed in France and manufactured in Portugal.
